Costa Rica Day 7

We were supposed to take a boat to a nearby white sand beach. Unfortunately, it was too windy and the trip was cancelled. We ended up staying at the resort all day.

Since we had nothing to do, we sat at the swim-up bar and waited for them to open. I had like 3 halves of a drink (every time I'd start a drink, a bee would fall inside it and I'd have to get another one) and then I felt drunk. It wasn't even lunch yet!

I ate a small lunch and then fell asleep by the pool (for four hours!).

By the time I woke up, I was super brown and it was almost time for dinner. At dinner, we said good by to our favorite server, Jimmy.

After dinner, we relaxed in the hot tub for a couple hours. Then we went back to the room to pack up our stuff. We had to be strategic in our packing because we were very close to the 50lb limit. We went to be sometime after midnight. We had an amazing trip, but I was actually looking forward to coming home and sleeping in my own bed.

Costa Rica day 2

Our second day was spent relaxing at the resort. We spent a good portion of the day planning and booking our excursions for the week.  I'm glad we waited until we arrived to book the excursions because we were able to negotiate a cheaper price in person.

The rest of the day was spent drinking piƱa coladas and sleeping by the pool. About two thirds of the resort is kids from Canada on their senior trip.

We made reservations for the fancier restaurant. It was nice to get away from the senior trip kids and have a quiet dinner.

One of the servers calls me "camanances" whenever he sees me lol.

Costa Rica Day 1

Our first day was spent traveling. We left LAX right before midnight Saturday.

We had a two hour layover in Atlanta where we got to stretch out and freshen up a little bit.

We arrived in Costa Rica Sunday around 1pm. It was hot and humid but there was a breeze that makes it bearable.

Since we couldn't check in to our room until 3, we ate at the buffet and had margaritas and Imperial beer.

We checked out the black sand beach.

And we tested out my lifeproof case underwater.

It was so nice to finally arrive and just relax! There are a ton of kids on their senior trip which makes for interesting people watching!
